Aging and Dementia

NWAC’s Aging and Dementia initiatives address critical gaps in care for Indigenous communities through culturally-grounded approaches. We provide strength-based support for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers while working to reduce stigma through education and community engagement. Our PHAC-funded programs operate in rural and remote communities, creating sustainable care models that honor Indigenous values while developing essential resources. By combining traditional knowledge with contemporary practices, we’re fostering improved well-being and greater understanding of dementia within Indigenous contexts.
