One of my primary and integral objectives is to ensure the Calls for Justice of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQAI+ people (MMIWG2S+) are enacted by decision-makers at all levels. I also strongly hold with reconciliation beginning with equitable inclusion in policy decisions that will and are impacting Indigenous women and gender-diverse people. 

This goal includes environmental policy planning and national priorities related to climate change. 

As President of the NWAC, my mandate includes continuing the fight for equality in training opportunities, education, health care, mental-health awareness, and housing for Indigenous women and gender-diverse people. As an organization, we cannot emphasize enough the importance of a healing model for intergenerational trauma.  

 Lobbying for resources needed to end the plague of substance abuse in both urban and rural Indigenous communities is also paramount. 

 Our commitment also involves securing sustained, dependable, funding and partnership opportunities for NWAC to address social and economic marginalization of Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse people.  

 Further to that, our plans include building on existing NWAC accomplishments as well as strengthening our relationships with affiliated associations in the provinces and territories. 

 In summation, I have concrete, accountable and measurable targets to give our ever-evolving community every opportunity to achieve self-determination.
